Disco Goes to her New Home!

Debbie with Orio (formerly Disco)
Disco went to her new home with Debbie Fryhling on  October 31 (Halloween)! She is now "Orio". Debbie is a horse breeder/trainer/show competitor! Orio also has a fur sister to play with named "Little" who is a Cocker Spaniel. What fun they will have!

Cacy & Disco Update...

September 30.... Cacy and Disco are doing great here at the JLS homestead. They are having 0 accidents in their crates at night. They enjoy a romp in the yard every morning, noon, late afternoon, evening and night... LOL Inbetween they are in a safe area (xpen with blanket, toys, and chew bones) so Momma Julia can get some work done! I am looking for a GREAT home for Disco (must be inside the house dog with a secure fenced in yard for lots of exercise and play time and potty breaks). BUT... she is very nice and if her spots do not grow any bigger... she may have a run as a show dog! We had Janet and her granddaughter stop by yesterday afternoon for a play date. They had a great time and this time Ellie could not out run them. They are so FAST! Thank you for stopping by. Always a good thing to try to wear active puppies out... however, when they left the pups were still going strong! Can we say Sabrina grandkids!!! LOL

Gracey Lou Update...

"Hi Julia,

Well it’s been two weeks since that wonderful Sunday I picked up precious little Gracey Lou! Every day is an adventure with her! Her shenanigans never cease to make me laugh. Just when I think she surely couldn’t run any faster, she flips on her super charged zoomie switch and off she goes. Lilly stands in the middle of the yard watching her go round and round. She pounces on the water hose, grasshoppers and any crunchy leaf she can find! She’s a sneaky little devil too….I had my tea in a styrofoam cup sitting on the patio table. The table is next to the porch steps, so she goes up the steps, leans over, grabs the cup, turns and runs back down the steps. I jump up and run after her. I’m no match for the zoomies though! She drops the cup, tea spills out and she proceeds to pounce on it! So much for sitting calmly outside enjoying my tea. LOL Then it’s some more of the same inside the house. She runs off and I go to see what she’s up to. I see these two frogs legs sticking out from underneath my bed and I say “Gracey, what are you doing under there” then the legs disappear completely. I told her “well have fun missy, it won’t be much longer and you won’t fit under there”! Then there’s the steps I bought for Lilly a couple of months ago when she started limping (she’s fine now). I thought by placing them next to my bed, that she wouldn’t have to jump anymore. She never would use them though. Oh, but guess who uses them just fine and loves being able to get up in the big bed….yep, little miss stinker I’m too cool for you! Yesterday, Lilly was laying on the bed and Gracey came up to join her. I thought I would lay down for a moment, but I dozed off. I woke up only to find Lilly on one side of me and Gracey curled up on the other side. So sweet! I love my girls!! I thank God for blessing my life with them. J

I pray everything is going well for you, your mother and your fur-babies!

You have a special place in mine and Gracey’s heart!

Hugs to all!

Sergeant Update...

Adolyn does not have email or FaceBook... yet, I hope. :) So I will just tell you his status..

Adolyn has taught him to sit, down, come, stand and he is doing well. She has taught him to not crawl into the refrigerator when she opens the door, but he is climbing into Polly's dog food bag when she opens the pantry door. Sounds like he is a growing boy and is hungry. LOL

He is sleeping through the night, and has only had one accident in his crate when Adolyn was gone for a few hours. Freckles likes him alot, Poly tolerates him, but not when he tries to nurse on her. She quickly gets disgusted.

Adolyn says  he is a very sweet boy, who minds well and is attentive. She says he is a keeper! Good boy Sergeant!

Siena Updates...

Shirley sent me the following updates on Siena...

September 29, 2013 -
"Hi! We are all doing great! I am so pleased and happy. Siena is the best ever. She follows a schedule willingly, loves playing with Onyx, and sleeps all night. We do dominance training each day, play with the big dogs, play in the play pen yard/like an x-pen......it comes inside in rain and out on the patio when it's nice...I am always there..., walk in the grass..pee and poop....eat in the crate...she loves that, as the big dogs eat in theirs at the same time, and personal loving at nite'.
I want to thank you for such a sweet girl. It's funny...She chases Onyx to play and chews all over her. Onyx doesn't care! These dynamics have surprised me. I am so happy. And I am proud of James. He has taught her to be submissive without any harm to Siena.
God has been good to me.
Thanks for a wonderful girl.

September 23, 2013 -
"This will probably come as 'old hat' to most of you, but to me it was a revelation! I recently, last Saturday, acquired a new little girl, JLS Siena's Black Fig Dessert. This is is the sixth dal I have owned. The new one always fit into the family, but not without frustration: sleepless nights, chewed furniture, reprimanding the other dogs, etc. I made so many mistakes, I can't list all of them. And, I was so stressed. This time I decided to do it right. I spent several hours with Julia Soukup at her place watching her tactics with puppies and my older dogs.
I couldn't believe my eyes. It was like magic. She knows what she is doing.
But, Could I do it? I'm the 'other end of the leash' person. No confidence or knowledge. The dogs know this.
However, we've all been home for three days and Julia's method is working.
I have followed it to a 'T'. It has been a pleasure at long last to be in control. My older dogs have become protective, instead of jealous, of the puppy already. A friend who has come to my house and stayed overnight many times came to see Siena and James Brown and Onyx would not let her near the pup.
My dogs love my friend, but Siena was theirs to protect. My point being, if any of you have had this problem of introducing your new puppy to the rest of the gang, talk to Julia.

Gracey Lou... 10 Weeks

I so LOVE the stories Gaylynn sends to me... she is a fantastic writer. Gaylynn you should start a Gracey Lou Who Blog... and I added WHO on there because you have found so many nick names for her... it's like WHO is she now???? :)

An update on Gracey...

"My momma loves taking pictures of me. She says I’m so stinkin cute. I know I am cause I come from a good looking family.

I’m having fun in my new home. Momma put my collar on me and then she laughed at me cause I started running on three legs while trying to scratch my collar off. She says I’ll have to get used to it cause I’m going to be taking walks when I get all my shots. I have to go now…momma says it’s time to go back outside and play.
Tell everyone I said ‘Hi’.

Love Gracey

P.S. Momma keeps calling me all kinds of names – Now I’m, JLS Go Get Em Goofey Gracey!
I think she’s losing her mind!"

10 Weeks old today!

Wow 10 weeks... seems much longer to me... LOL. It flies by, but yet, with all the sleep deprivation... work...stress of trying to fit everything in and to be the perfect dog mom... I am ready for a vacation! but it just won't happen unfortunately. Ah... nice to fantasize! :)

I am trying to get caught up a bit on the blog. I did go back and add photos from Sunday when Shirley May came to pick up Siena. Julia & Lisa took a lot of photos as well and I can't wait to see them. I hope there is a nice one of Shirley and Siena.

Adolyn came and picked up her boy "Sergeant" on Tuesday. I think she is very happy with him and how he is looking!
