Day 51...

Piranhas and Termites that is what our Momma Julia called us today! We have no idea why, we are as sweet and cute as we can be... when we are sleeping. Ha ha...

Just joking. They actually are very good babies. They mind very well for their age, and are a smart group. They turn into termites when they want out of their pen and then they start chewing on stuff and also when they find sticks outside in the yard. But they are mean little piranhas when I try to wipe their pen clean with a rag... OH MY that is SO MUCH FUN! to try to bite momma Julia's arms and hands, and GET the rag! Just try to get it out of out little razor teeth with clenched jaws! It makes me laugh, but it hurts and is annoying when I just want to get it wiped clean and new newspaper put down. They also try to jump on the newspapers as I put it down. And grab the clean blanket and jump on it and make it impossible to lay it out nicely.

Today my friend Kat came out and played with pups, loved on them and and threw toys. Thanks Kathy for the time socializing and aptitude testing pups! And thank you for the baby tug toys!

Darn I didn't take any pictures of Kathy and pups! Missed that opportunity. Sleepy today since they had me up at 1:30 and just before 6 a.m. today.

Day 50...

Here are their stack photo for 7 Weeks of age. This is usually an awkward week, but actually everyone still looks pretty together, so that is a good thing.

Last night the puppy socialization party went well. The pups each came over to say hi and sniff the guests, and then they ran off to play.

And I have to share this cute photo... I was making kissing noises at Black Girl 1 and she starting licking the air... LOL

48 Days...

Figgy had to go potty at 3 a.m. The little Black Figs were not complaining... but when I let momma out of course it had to be a party! So we went outside and I let them do their thing and play a bit, then back inside to bed so I could then sleep in a bit later than usual.

Today, I visited my dentist and had a crown put on... it took awhile... My tooth was just not getting numb. So I was the high maintenance patient of the day most likely... LOL. I usually am not a whimp, but it is bad enough smelling the tooth burning as they grind... I do not need to feel it too. :) They were great, really! Anyway, then it was errands for me... and by that time the novacaine was wearing off and I was feeling it.

Puppies were so glad to see me when I got home. Drugs for me and I sat in a chair and let them play and play and fight and be silly. :)

Here are a few photos...

47 Days Old...

Well, Liver Boy ate a bit too much dirt and stuff when socializing the other day... and he had diarrhea and didn't want to eat. A bit of meds and he is back to his cute, sweet self this morning, although still a bit loose. But yea! I was worried. I think he learned his lesson though... he went up to the suspect flower pot and just looked at it this morning. I said "ACK" and he left it alone! :)

We were supposed to go for BAER (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response) hearing testing today, but I cancelled as I did not want to be traveling with a puppy that was not feeling 100%. The stress of a all-day trip that like would not be good. It is rescheduled for next week. Whew!

Well... talk is cheap sometimes... I still didn't move the pups back to the dog room. I put down new plastic sheeting in the dining room and set up the x-pen again. It was a nice thought to have my Dining Room back, but I am not ready to move things (and dogs) around in the dog room yet, so I need to get that organized, but I have way too much WORK right now and the pups can stay put for a day or two, or three or four...or maybe until they go to new homes. We shall just see... if I get the whim to move them again. :)

46 Days Old...

Brr... chilly morning outside, but puppies loved going out and pottying, however they did come back in when I called "Puppy, Puppy, Cookies" this morning, usually they just want to stay out. They are in the independent, I don't hear you... I have important exploring to do mode. If I pick them up for kisses and cuddling, they snuggle for a second and then want back down NOW! My sweet babies no more. They will come back around though. It's a phase.

We did have puppy visitors yesterday! Thank you to Janet for bringing her grand kids over to see the pups. They are so good with the puppies and are so polite. They need to come over and help again. :)

And more pictures! Yes I got some pictures yesterday!

Mom? Did you really have to take a picture NOW?
I caught her pooping, but she was standing still for a change! LOL

Liver Girl 2 checking out the fire pit full of puppy papers... "Isn't it FUN to grab these and run all over the yard!"

Nothing better than a good chew on a good stick.
Liver Boy just standing naturally. Now for puppy tails to relax.

45 Days...

They are wanting to go outside to potty! What GOOD babies... the only thing is that they want to go out ALOT! I don't want to let them out at night in the dark since I do live rural, and although my property is all fenced in for the dogs... that does not mean there won't be a hawk or owl, or some sort of predator. So at night they must use their papers which they hate to do. They seem to be holding their poo all night long, which is great! And they run outside to go. Peeing... well, there is ALOT of that going on, as to be expected! I did carry one girl outside last night and she promptly pooped and then wanted picked back up and taken back inside. Good Liver Girl 4! I guess I can begin to carry them out one at a time at night, but by the time I did that, the others would have already gone. They try to be good but can't hold it that long.

This morning they were crying and I propped open the front door and opened their pen and out they ran! It was SO CUTE. They did their business and then terrorized the front yard... "give those sticks bugs and plants hell puppies"... LOL. Of course I was saying "ACK"... this and "AC"K that...and taking things out of their mouths. Must be a goat in the gene pool (just joking!).

This morning they decided that the campfire pit was exciting with the puppy papers in there ready to burn. Let's grab them and run all over the front yard... yea! Fun game! And even more fun to make Momma Julia walk all over pickup up little pieces of newspaper. LOL

It is a beautiful cool morning and they got to stay out extra long. Merica, Taffy and Figgy kind of run off and do their own thing. And if I call them back in they walk through the puppies guardedly, not wanting to get nipped by puppy teeth. This is the age where the older dogs need to gently teach them some manners. So far they have not had to do so, but it is important that they learn respect and bite inhibition and how to interact.

Today I am moving them out of the Dining Room and back to the Dog Room, I think. The plastic sheeting needs changing. and the Linoleum piece is getting a bit stinky, despite continuous wiping down with clorox water. The linoleum is outside by the hose ready to be deep cleaned... and I will put down new plastic. Not sure I am ready for them in the dog room. I kind of like having them close, they are just at the bottom of the stairs from my bedroom... I am a sentimental momma.

Hopefully we will get some puppy visitors today and tomorrow! Anyone want to come out, just give me a call!
