Gracey Lou... 10 Weeks
I so LOVE the stories Gaylynn sends to me... she is a fantastic writer. Gaylynn you should start a Gracey Lou Who Blog... and I added WHO on there because you have found so many nick names for her... it's like WHO is she now???? :)
An update on Gracey...
An update on Gracey...
"My momma loves taking pictures of
me. She says I’m so stinkin cute. I know I am cause I come from a good looking
family.
I’m having fun in my new home. Momma
put my collar on me and then she laughed at me cause I started running on three
legs while trying to scratch my collar off. She says I’ll have to get used to it
cause I’m going to be taking walks when I get all my shots. I have to go
now…momma says it’s time to go back outside and
play.
Tell everyone I said
‘Hi’.
Love
Gracey
P.S. Momma keeps calling me all
kinds of names – Now I’m, JLS Go Get Em Goofey
Gracey!
I think she’s losing her mind!"
10 Weeks old today!
Wow 10 weeks... seems much longer to me... LOL. It flies by, but yet, with all the sleep deprivation... work...stress of trying to fit everything in and to be the perfect dog mom... I am ready for a vacation! but it just won't happen unfortunately. Ah... nice to fantasize! :)
I am trying to get caught up a bit on the blog. I did go back and add photos from Sunday when Shirley May came to pick up Siena. Julia & Lisa took a lot of photos as well and I can't wait to see them. I hope there is a nice one of Shirley and Siena.
Adolyn came and picked up her boy "Sergeant" on Tuesday. I think she is very happy with him and how he is looking!

66 Days...

Cacy just melted in Lisa's lap |
We had a great time playing with pups, introducing James Brown and Onyx to the pups and visa versa. A nice lunch in Lindsborg at the Brick House Grill. Desicions, paperwork, and then goodbye! :( I know Siena is going to a wonderful home with a great friend, so I have no worries and will get to visit! She will have a great career as a Therapy Dog/READ (Reading Education Assistance Dog) as well as a beloved companion.
Shirley called and said she is PERFECT! I said, I thought you said James was Perfect? Shirley said she has two perfect dogs then. LOL! Siena is a great pup, but I warned Shirley she just may have her company manners on. However she is extremely smart and learns fast. They really are a good group.
Tomorrow, Sergeant is going to his home I believe. Today I moved them into individual puppy crates for training. It helps with the potty training. They really have been doing so well, I did not once have to clean up poop in their puppy pen in the house! I am SERIOUS! This was an AWESOME easy litter! :) They always cried and I let them outside and they would poop. Being seperated and in individual crates witll teach them to be confident outside of their puppy pack, and to not go potty in their crate.

They spent most of the day outside in a safe puppy play area... two x-pens put together with lots of toys, water and some chew bones. They didn't like it much. I thought the blanket looked inviting... so I got in there and layed down on the blanket. They settled right now and cuddled up and took a nap. :)
Gaylynn sent me another story of her Gracey pup... Enjoy!
"Celebrating one week
with JLS Tasmanian Gone Wild aka Gracey LOU What Are You Up To? LOL I only have
5 shark teeth puncture wounds on my hands and arm and who knows, I might have
some hair missing on my head by the way she runs her little snout thru it.
Um…last night I ran an errand so I put her in her crate. There’s a sheet I use
at night to cover it and I fold it back in the morning…came back to find she had
pulled the whole darn sheet thru and made herself a bed out of it!
She’s one smart ornery
girl. My neighbor (Bill Jr) came over to meet her. He said “she’s so pretty” and
had a fun time playing with her. I’m so happy Lilly is being a good sport with
her. Yesterday, there was a Kodak moment in the backyard and of course I wished
I would have had my camera. Lilly laid down to sunbathe and little miss cutie
po-tootie came over and laid down right next to her. It was so sweet!
I just sat there and
enjoyed the beauty of the moment.
God bless you and have
a great day!!

65 Days (9 Weeks, 2 days)...
Siena will be going home today with Shirley May. Shirley is so excited and is due here this morning. She is bringing James Brown and Onyx and a couple new Dal lovers to visit. I think it will be a picnic and circus combo in my front yard today. :) Fun for spots and people alike. :)
I have been taking a few more photos, but have not had time to post them. I will take more today.
In the meantime here is a fun review from Gracey's mom... I was ROFLOL with tears in my eyes! Welcome to my world Gaylynn... but be glad you only have one little baby devil! ;)
Maybe I should not have posted this story until the others pick up their puppies... hmmmm.... what do you think?

"Hi
Julia,
Tomorrow will be one week having the
little tasmanian devil home. Lol Oh boy…Lilly and I strapped our seatbelts on
and we’re hanging on for one wild and fun ride with Gracey. We’re dodging needle
shark tooth attacks right and left. Let’s see….she thinks she needs to rearrange
the bathroom this time by trying to yank down the shower curtain. She thinks she
a big helper when it comes to my tennis shoes…I tie my shoelaces and she pulls
them right back out. I pick up around the house and she’s right there trying to
pull things out of my hands. I bought a little bowl set for her to eat and drink
out of but she thinks she needs to stand on her back legs and reach up to
Lilly’s bowl. I looked around once to a funny sight…Lilly is drinking water out
of the little bowl and Gracey is stretching her pretty little self to drink out
of Lilly’s bowl. I said “Gracey what are you doing?” She looks at me as if to
say “what’s the problem, I’m a big girl”. Lol Boy she has so much character! She
cracks me up. Then there’s all kinds of shenanigans outside! The zoomies kick in
when her little paws hit the grass…she’s off and running and she conveniently
forgets her name when I call her! She’s too busy pulling up chunks of grass,
chasing Lilly, running and hiding in the flower bushes, trying to budge a big
rock, pulling branches off the big palm tree. And then there’s me, running
around like a zombie, saying Gracey LOU, Gracey LOU, Gracey LOU….get that out of
your mouth, come here, what are you doing….LOL Lilly just sits back and watches
the circus. After all that
energy is worked out of her, then the little sweet angel, full of love and
kisses emerges and we all take a nap until the next round of fun. Life is good
and God is great!! We are so
blessed!! I love that little stinker. I’ll probably go back to work on Monday
and scare everyone by my haggard look. I’ll remind them that’s what happens with
a new baby in the house!
God bless you, your mom and all your
fur-babies!! Have a great weekend!!

62 Days...
I have been bad about updating the blog. It will wind down now, but will update for a bit yet.
Gracey or Gracey Lou has gone to her new home with Gaylynn Boice. What a nice lady! She will be greatly loved and well taken care of. Lucky pup and lucky new puppy Mom, Gracey is a gem of a pup. Gracey will be going to socialization classes and puppy obedience as soon as it is "safer" for her with a couple more vaccinations under her belt. Gracey will be a loving companion as well as a Therapy Dog! I look forward to hearing more about Gracey and Gaylynn's adventures. :)

58 Days Old...
Imagine this...
Zombie human puppy momma. Coffee in one hand, barefoot, robe, running after pups, getting pulled by robe on one side and sweat pants getting pulled and ankles getting bit on the other side by spotted little devils. Wish I could draw cartoons! I can see it... I lived it this morning... too funny!
Good thing they are so darn cute and so sweet (most of the time), these little devil outbursts are quite funny, although the sharp teeth do hurt. They quit pretty good when I yelp. They DO love me... they just want to eat me at times... ha ha.
Today started just as a hint of the sun was coming up in the East. Quite pretty orange on the horizon. If I did not have puppies, just think of all I would be missing. Thank you God for the sunrise this morning and for puppies. :)
Today another busy day... work, puppy packet, new plastic sheeting on the floor for the puppy pen... they kind of destroyed the old one. I knew it would happen, but they have been so very good! Other litters would have destroyed it weeks ago. I let these guys run outside ALOT so they are pretty good when in their pen. A good puppy is a well exercised puppy. That and a full tummy. :)
The first puppy will go to her new home tomorrow. It will be bittersweet to see her go. Gracey, or Gracey Lou as I have been calling her sometimes, will be missed but will be so loved!

55 Days...
I forgot to mention that after we got home from their hearing test yesterday... they all went deaf!!! As they were running around the yard, not a single one heard me calling them! Puppy, puppy, puppy... Cookies... Cookies! Babies!!! BABIES!!! They are now WORLD TRAVELERS (they think)... la te da! And do NOT have to listen to their human mommy anymore... what little STINKS!!!! lol...
I finally went into the house and got their food pan, and drummed my fingernails on it... that got them RUNNING to me fast! Grrr.... buggars! They make me laugh... thank goodness.
Pups and I were up early this morning and they enjoyed running in the yard while I drink coffee and try to wake up... oh and a bagel... had to give up on the no carb diet for now... it was killing me! :) probably because I had to break it a couple times... but feeling much better now. I was really exhausted and feeling poorly for a few days. I even had to put on sweat bottoms this morning as it was a bit chilly! Really! :)
Not much to report to day... I have lots of work to get done. They holler when they need to go potty. Some hold it and some go on the papers, but all are pooping outside or Figgy is getting the evidence still...
I take them out early morning, mid morning, noon, mid afternoon, and evening and before bed... they should be in good shape and usually sleep all night! It's one of the big dogs that get me up! Usually Newt lately. Turkey...
Tomorrow they are 8 WEEKS old!

53 Days & 54 Days...
Yesterday was a BUSY day... puppoe had their first long road trip to OSU for BAER (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response) hearing testing! I had to get up at 4:00 a.m. (well that's when the alarm went off), to make a 9:30 appointment. A throw-up in a crate and some pottying on the newspaper, but no poop on the trip! YES! There was some hollering going on for the first hour and a half! YES... and hour and half! poor babies did not want to "go" in their crate! but I could not stop. I had paper in there and a blanket and just kept telling them... go on the paper! LOL.
When we arrived I set up the x-pen and Sergeant pooped and everyone peed. I changed their bedding, picked up the poo. Loaded them all in a crate on wheels and inside we went. They were SO good! They were not scared at all. Friendly, tail waggin, curiosity about all the hub bub at the Vet School. One guy there had hunting dogs and he said those are some nice looking pups several times. He said either bird dogs or Dalmatians. :) I said they can be both, but generally want to keep their catch for themselves. LOL
I did get a few pictures of them waiting for their appointment. Dalmatians get quite a bit of attention as you can imagine. And yes I got the question, are those Dalmatians? They are BROWN! LOL. Well, you know we will miss it the day they become so recognizable that ALL have seen a Liver Dalmatian. It can be annoying how often we hear it now, but... you KNOW that you will miss it... admit it! :)

52 Days...
Well it FINALLY happened! I MOVED the pups back to the dog room this afternoon. Yea! I have my Dining Room back and all clean and mopped and smelling fresh. Awww.... so nice. Puppies are so sweet but no matter how clean you keep things they still get a bit smelly, and newsprint itself bothers my allergies. Next baths! I think they will still fit in the kitchen sink and I have the sprayer... so this will hopefully save my back, but not a bit of a mess! Ha ha....

Day 51...
Piranhas and Termites that is what our Momma Julia called us today! We have no idea why, we are as sweet and cute as we can be... when we are sleeping. Ha ha...
Just joking. They actually are very good babies. They mind very well for their age, and are a smart group. They turn into termites when they want out of their pen and then they start chewing on stuff and also when they find sticks outside in the yard. But they are mean little piranhas when I try to wipe their pen clean with a rag... OH MY that is SO MUCH FUN! to try to bite momma Julia's arms and hands, and GET the rag! Just try to get it out of out little razor teeth with clenched jaws! It makes me laugh, but it hurts and is annoying when I just want to get it wiped clean and new newspaper put down. They also try to jump on the newspapers as I put it down. And grab the clean blanket and jump on it and make it impossible to lay it out nicely.
Today my friend Kat came out and played with pups, loved on them and and threw toys. Thanks Kathy for the time socializing and aptitude testing pups! And thank you for the baby tug toys!
Darn I didn't take any pictures of Kathy and pups! Missed that opportunity. Sleepy today since they had me up at 1:30 and just before 6 a.m. today.
