Ta da!!! Eyes are all open! I do not see any blue eyes yet, but their eyes are still adjusting and mine feel fuzzy themselves this morning... too much Figgy and puppy fur in my face. But how can I help it... they are just too darn cuddly! Eye color on the Black puppies is easy to see. Both have dark brown eyes. Livers are trickier, because all puppies have a blue tinge to their eyes at this age. You can just barely see the amber color behind the bluish tint. Then you know it will be an Amber eye. Parti-color eyes can be tricky and usually you won't notice them for a couple more weeks at least. I will be able to tell more in a few days.
I was just looking at a puppy development chart in one of my Whelping books and it is interesting to note that my pups are a bit slower on the eyes opening, but right in sync with the ear canals opening. They are way ahead on standing upright, barking and play behavior. Just like human babies, there are guidelines, but they all have their own schedule, and all evens up in the end.
